35 weeks

It's shower time! I'm right in the middle of all my parties and showers and loving it! My first shower was at work and it was great! Those girls are great and I was overwhelmed by all that they did. They went in together and bought us our stroller/carseat travel system and then on top of that gave us a gift card plus tons of other great stuff! And the food was delicious! They made all my favorites. Lee put the stroller together that same night and we each claimed our own baby blanket. They are so soft!

Our second shower was at church. Also fantastic! Leah and Kaye always do such a great job. There was a nice turnout. We got more great stuff and finally got some diapers! Emma-Kate started helping me out some with opening presents which was nice. That can wear you out! We got some really great clothes for little man including a beautiful christening gown and bubble suit made by Sue Daniels. EK, Shea and mom got me some awesome clothes of course. BW will be styling it up at church. We are going to have to plan lots of stuff for him to do just so he can wear it all! We are very thankful and blessed to be part of such an awesome church family.

Lee's coworkers even threw a surprise shower for him! They made him wear a bib which was great because so far he hasn't had to wear any embarrassing corsages. Unlike his brother-in-law Jeff who had to wear a girlie baby shoe corsage at Shea's shower. Ha! He works with some very sweet ladies who put this together. They had baby pictures up of themselves and Lee and he had to guess who everybody was before they would let him open presents or eat! He too had a delicious cake because he brought some home and I got to try it!

We also had lamaze last Saturday. It was an all day crash course! I think every dad should have to sit through that! It was very informative. Maybe a little too informative, lol. We saw some very graphic videos which I think gave Lee a good idea of when it is and isn't safe to look during labor. I'm pulling for him to stay on two feet during the whole thing. I think overall we are ready to take it on and get through this! He is such a great support already I know he will be great during labor.
We had our maternity photo shoot with Monica and Brent a couple weeks ago. We had a really good time doing it but it mostly made me realize that I have certainly developed fat face and can barely stand to see pictures of myself. I am glad we did it though because these are moments we can never get back and it will be nice to have some pictures to look back at down the road. They actually did a really great job. Thanks guys!

Our latest development...we have a name!!!! Woohoo!!!! We haven't told anybody what it is and do not plan too until baby is here. It has been a long stressful process for us and we are so glad to finally have one. We also have the nursery almost finished. We have started washing baby clothes. Not fun by the way. They are so teeny and there are so many pieces and we can't remember what went with what! I think the only thing left to do is hang our picture frames that we painted (we are still waiting for our maternity photos to put in them!) and I have a couple things planned for the walls which hopefully will get done in the next week. All we will need soon is the baby! Who by the way is still breech. Breecher than ever actually. He has been this way for 7 weeks and I believe he has just decided he likes that position! He stomps on my bladder quite frequently which sends me running to the bathroom day and night. The doctor said we would wait it out till week 37 and then we would try an external version. Lucky for me I got to see a couple of these during my clinicals in nursing school and I know how painful and miserable they can be for the mom. This is where they lube up your tummy and doctor manually tries to turn the baby from the outside. Lots of times they turn right back or it doesn't work to begin with. There are serious risks that go along with it and I just haven't decided if I want to attempt this. My other option is C-section so please send up some prayer that baby will just turn on his own because I really don't want either! In the meantime, I have been doing the doctor recommended exercise of basically standing on my head and crazy things I have found on the internet like putting clothes pins on my pinky toes and playing classical music to the belly. No action so far. That's all for now folks!

31 Weeks

Ok so I have not been keeping up with this blog like I wanted to. There hasn't been a whole lot to happen though. I am now 31 weeks along. Lee and I went to the doctor yesterday and had a repeat 3d/4d ultrasound. This child is soo stubborn! He is now breech and apparently is not a fan of the camera. Hopefully he will turn back down where is supposed to be before April. Still didn't get very good pictures so we are going to beg office manager to let us come back for a third time. Other than the stubbornness (which I am convinced comes from Lee) :), everything looks good. They estimated him to be around 3lb 5oz. He is moving all the time! Except when we go to the doctor. He can now move my whole stomach! It's such a strange feeling. Sometimes it gets annoying when he is moving a lot but as soon as it stops, I miss it! I am so ready for him to get here and I think Lee is too. We finally got our bedding. I love it! I think there are endless decorating possibilities, I just need to get on it! Emma-Kate has tried out the crib and gave it two thumbs up. I value her opinion in that area. As for a name...he is still "BW", "Fred" or whatever you would like to call him. We have not narrowed it down but we are getting closer to an agreement. I have scheduled a maternity photo shoot with my friend Monica in a couple weeks. I think that will be really fun and special. March is going to be a very busy and exciting month! We have all kinds of classes scheduled and showers and parties! We are closing in on the fun times! That's all the update I have for now. Here are a few belly shots over the past weeks.
